The mine supplies ores of coal, iron, silver, platinum and gold to make jewelry and repair the train in the town at level 34. The mine requires TNT, shovels and picks to supply ore to the smelters on your farm. Smelters are used to make the bars of metal and refined the coal to be used. Number of smelters on your farm varies by the neighborhood group you are in and how you play. Smelters are not required if you shop for them, but they are needed for an achievement task of the game. Your neighborhood should tell you the best way that benefits you and the neighborhood. You may be asked not to add them at the time, but buy a different machine that the neighborhood feels it needs more than a smelter. If so they should be able to supply the bars needed to supply your Jewelry Maker. The reason a neighborhood may ask you not to buy more smelters may be that your coins for purchasing machines can be best used in another area. And that they believe they can supply the bars for you to make the jewelry you need to advance. If you trust the neighborhood to provide your needs follow the suggestion for them. Do as asked, if not find a neighborhood that will work in your best interest to advance your farm by working together.
For Derby mining task be sure to have the items needed to mine and barn room before you select the task. Task should be able to be done in under 5 mins. even for the highest number of required ores needed for mining task in derby.
Number of Smelters you have on your farm depends on how you wish to play. I recommend at least one and smelt coal or iron mostly til others can be purchased. Coal and Iron take the least amount of time to smelt, which helps out with the achievement for doing so. Purchase ores from the newspaper or mine them as needed.
Mining task is a fast task to preform if you plan again for it, it can be done in under 5 minutes for the the highest points available for it. 95 ore for 311 points
Have your smelters ready to smelt the new ores collected or sell them off and be sure to have the items needed to mine the ores. Picks collect 5, shovels 4, TNT 3, and dynamite 2 ores each.
Note: If your barn is full you can still mine ore up to an amount before having to collect the mined ores. The task counts the amount mined not put into the barn for points.
