Limit the harvesting of all produces to how many saw and axes you have.  Sell cherries over that of apples, because cherries sell for more money than do apples.  Plant replacement trees in advance of the last harvest of all plants.  It's better to keep take of the status of the plants live.  Such it will need to be revived on next harvest, It's on it's last harvest and will need to be removed.

The best way I found is to plant a row of every tree type, with the other trees in the same stage.

You may wish to leave those on last harvest as an emergency harvest and use the first harvest ones before the revived stage ones.  This way you can control the dead plants on your farm better.

Plus control the barn storage problem of saws and axes.  If you have more that 10 lets say, you can cut or chop down the same amount of trees or bushes, over 10.

Saws on hand 15  trees that be removed = 5
Axes on hand 15 plants that be chopped down = 5

After a plant has been removed replant to keep your supply available to you.
